Everything louder than everything else

Una de las ventajas de haber siniestrado mi coche, radio CD y cargador incluidos, of course, es que he podido desempolvar mis viajas cintas de cassette para poner en mi new-old car. Sarcasmos a un lado, día atrás recuperé algunas de las viejas cintas para bajarlas al coche.

Y entre los varios cientos de ellas que tenía, bajé unas cuantas y no pude evitar coger el Bat out of hell II (Back into hell) (1993) de Meat Loaf.

Y a pesar de que suena a rayos el radiocassette, siempre siente uno un poco de nostalgia al recuperar sus pequeñas joyas. Y es que han pasado casi 15 años desde que fue grabada...

El disco es la continuación del afgamado Bat out of hell (1977), que en colaboración con Jim Steinman vendió más de 30 millones de discos, convirtiéndolo en uno de  los álbumes más vendidos de la historia del rock. La primera parte es una maravilla a medio camino entre un musical y un álbum conceptual de rock progresivo.

La segunda parte es una pieza más rockera a mi gusto, combinando largas piezas melódicas con algunos buenos trallazos rockeros. Quizás se antojen un poco largas la mayoría de las piezas del disco. En la cara B, después de la disortación del Wasted Youth (¡genial!) enlaza directamente con este Everything louder than everything else.

Y es que la canción va subiendo de ritmo y armonía hasta el apocalipsis del coro. Everything louder than everything else. La emoción me invadía en la autovía cuando estaba sonando la canción y me invitaba a empujar más fuerte (la pobre motorización de mi nuevo auto hacía caso omiso para mi bien del renacido entusiasmo)

En fin, un temazo, con fuerza. Para afrontar una semana esperemos que decisiva.
