REM - Losing my religion (1991)

REM fue uno de mis grupos de referencia durante muchos años, sobretodo en los noventa. Y como mucha gente, al menos en España, los conocí con esta canción, del álbum Out of time (1991), cuando vinieron a presentarlo...

Tras más de 10 años de carrera, por fin marcaban un hit decisivo en todo el mundo. Después vino el Automatic for the people (1992) y a partir de ahí, podamos ya considerar a REM uno de los grandes grupos de todos los tiempos. Auténticos dinosaurios del Rock.

La canción. La frase Losing my religion es una expresión sureña (de los USA) que viene a significar "perder los papeles" o "salirse de sus casillas". A mi la canción me recuerda simplemente a REM, a mis comienzos en el descubrimiento de nuevos y grandes grupos...

Y bueno, quizás también me hace pensar de vez en cuando en que no, no debo perder los papeles, no debo dejarme llevar por los primeros impulsos. No debo "lose my religion". ¡Qué paradoja!
